"Your Body Is Not Broken": A Conversation with Network Wellness Center
Boulder's Network Wellness Center is the title sponsor of Embody Wellness Expo 2026. Ahead of October 18th, we sat down with the practice to talk about their approach to chiropractic care, what nervous system health actually means in daily life, and why community wellness events like Embody matter.
If you've ever heard the word "chiropractic" and pictured forceful adjustments and cracking sounds, Network Wellness Center would like a word with you.
The Boulder-based practice, which has been serving individuals and families for 27 years, specializes in NetworkSpinal care: a gentle, neurologically focused approach to chiropractic that works not by forcing the body into alignment, but by helping the nervous system become more aware of its own patterns and more capable of reorganizing them. It's a distinction that matters, and it's one the team at Network Wellness Center has spent nearly three decades helping people understand.
This October, they're bringing that work to Longmont as the title sponsor of Embody Wellness Expo — and offering complimentary spine and nervous system screenings to every person who walks through the door at The St. Vrain on October 18th.
We sat down with the practice to learn more.
What is NetworkSpinal care, and how is it different from conventional chiropractic?
NetworkSpinal is a form of chiropractic care developed by Dr. Donald Epstein that focuses on the relationship between the spine, the brain, and the nervous system. Rather than using forceful manipulation to move a bone into place, NetworkSpinal uses precise, very light contacts along the spine to help the nervous system become aware of (and develop new responses to) areas of tension and contraction it has been holding, often for years.
The idea is that the nervous system, when it encounters stress it can't fully process, tends to store that stress in the body as tension patterns — in posture, in breathing, in the way a person holds themselves in the world. NetworkSpinal care creates the conditions for those patterns to be noticed, reorganized, and released.
For many patients, the experience is unlike anything they expected from chiropractic. Sessions are quiet and gentle. People often notice shifts in their breathing, their emotional state, and their sense of ease in the body — not just in a particular area of physical pain.
What is the philosophy behind your practice?
The belief at the center of everything Network Wellness Center does is this: your body is not broken.
It is always doing its best to adapt, protect you, and communicate with you. Pain, tension, fatigue, disconnection — these are not signs of failure. They are the body's intelligent responses to demands that have exceeded its current capacity to process. The role of care is not to override those responses, but to help create the conditions in which the body can find new, more efficient ways of responding.
After 27 years of practice, the team at Network Wellness Center has seen this principle play out in remarkable ways. Patients who arrived guarded and depleted and gradually, through consistent care, found their way back to a more open and engaged experience of their own life.
"We've watched people re-enter relationships they had withdrawn from," the practice shares. "Start participating in the world again. Not because we fixed something — but because their nervous system learned it was safe to move differently."
Who do you work with?
Network Wellness Center works with individuals and families of all ages — from newborns to seniors. The nervous system doesn't have an age requirement, and neither does NetworkSpinal care.
The practice sees patients across a wide spectrum of needs and presentations: people managing chronic stress, pain, and fatigue; people navigating the physical aftermath of trauma; people who feel disconnected from their bodies and want to find their way back; families who want to support the nervous system health of every member, from the youngest to the oldest.
The common thread is not a diagnosis. It is a desire to feel more at home in the body and more resilient in life.
How does chiropractic care connect to broader wellness — to herbalism, nutrition, movement, community?
Network Wellness Center sees itself as one part of a larger ecosystem, not the whole answer.
The nervous system is the body's primary communication network. It mediates every other system, including digestion, immunity, hormonal regulation, and sleep. When the nervous system is dysregulated, every other system is affected. When it begins to reorganize toward greater ease and efficiency, people often notice improvements in areas that seem unrelated to their spine: better digestion, more restful sleep, a calmer stress response, clearer thinking.
That's why NetworkSpinal care tends to amplify the work that other modalities do. When someone's nervous system is less burdened by stored tension, they absorb nutrition more effectively, they respond to movement more fully, they engage with herbal support more completely. Good chiropractic care (nervous-system-centered chiropractic care) makes the whole wellness ecosystem work better.
This is exactly why Embody Wellness Expo felt like the right event to be part of.
Why Embody Wellness Expo?
"We believe wellness is a community endeavor," the practice says. "Embody embodies that, in the truest sense of the word. It's not a marketplace. It's a gathering. And we think that distinction matters enormously."
Network Wellness Center's partnership with Embody as title sponsor reflects a shared conviction: that health is not achieved in isolation, and that access to high-quality, values-aligned care should not be limited by economics or geography.
Which is why they're bringing something concrete to October 18th: complimentary spine and nervous system screenings for every person who walks through the door. No appointment or ticket required. It’s an opportunity to learn something about your nervous system that you may not have known before.
What can someone expect from a screening at Embody?
A complimentary screening with Network Wellness Center is a first conversation, and an opportunity to understand where your nervous system is holding tension and what that might mean for your overall health and wellbeing.
It is not a sales pitch or a diagnosis, but rather an introduction. An introduction to the practice, to NetworkSpinal care, and to the possibility that the way your body feels right now is not the only option available to you.
For those who want to take the next step, Network Wellness Center is extending an exclusive offer to all Embody attendees and readers of the Saturn's Daughter community: their complete two-visit initial experience for $75 (a package normally valued at $275). Every dollar of that $75 will be donated in full to SPAN Boulder, a local organization supporting community members in need.
Care for yourself. Give to your community. October 18th makes that possible in the same visit.
